Tube welders allow for “Closed System” sterile fluid path connections to be made when using Single Use Systems. The need for a laminar flow cabinet, a clean room, or similar environmental control device is not necessary when using a tube welder to make sterile fluid transfer. The process allows the connection of multiple fluid paths utilizing C-Flex or equivalent tubing. The welder is useful for connecting tubing between process containers and equipment, and is designed to connect small or large diameter tubing enabling high flow rates and large transfer volumes. Typical applications for use are; small volume sampling or large bags for media, buffer fills, reactor or process transfer.
The tubing is applied to bag systems and tubesets, sterile irradiated or autoclaved as applied to tanks and additional tubing assemblies. Tube ends are sealed or plugged.
